Review: Little Lord Fauntleroy

Little Lord Fauntleroy by Frances Hodgson Burnett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As a child, one of my favorite movies was “Little Lord Fauntleroy” with Ricky Schroeder as Ceddie. I’m surprised that it took me so long to read the book. Maybe I just didn’t want to spoil my childhood favorite.

I loved the story in book form as well, even if the story is a little too “gushy” about the goodness and sweetness of Lord Fauntleroy. I did find some gems I feel speak highly of human nature….the sweetness of a child raised by a good mother, the influence a good mother can have on a child, the softening of a grouchy old man’s heart…all endearing stories to tell.

I fully recommend this story as a wholesome and sweet story to read. Perfectly suitable for the entire family.
